So last week I was in my truck leaving my house to drive to the lake. I was off early from work and it was absolutely beautiful outside. I had my windows rolled down, and the sound bouncing out of my speakers just seemed to put me in a really great mood. My typical mood when I go to the lake is the feeling that a kid gets when school is out for the summer; it's pure freedom.
There I am in my truck, I'm behind a school bus that has stopped to let some kids get off. I look over into the passenger seat and this little lizard is staring at me. I get that central florida has a bunch of little of these guys roaming around, that doesn't bother me. But what does bother me is when they are sitting in my passenger seat look directly at me. Immediately I reached for my board shorts to try and get the thing to hop out of my truck. I chased it up the door panel and thought he would scurry down the outside of my truck door and hop into the grass. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It decided to act like it was going to climb up behind my dashboard, then it came back down, hopped up on my cup holder, ran down underneath my feet and just stopped.
I know what you are thinking.. "Spencer, it's a tiny lizard and you are a crazy person." I would agree with you.
I finally got the thing to move and shooed it out my driver side door and into the grass. I can only imagine what the people around me thought as they saw some dude swinging around a pair of board shorts to get the Geico Gecko out of his truck. I just hope they laughed at the sight and it made their day a little bit brighter.
